“When eyesight is restored, a person doesn’t just see the world again — they reclaim their freedom, confidence, and dignity. A single moment of clarity can rewrite years of struggle.”
The Shivshree Drushti Raksha Parkalp is a flagship initiative by Shivshree foundation, aimed at providing comprehensive eye care services to underprivileged and rural populations in Marathwada region, Maharashtra. This program is designed to address preventable vision issues through early detection, treatment, and public awareness, particularly among economically weaker sections.
Conducted in various villages and talukas of Marathwada region.
Camps are equipped with basic diagnostic tools and led by qualified ophthalmologists and trained volunteers.
On-spot diagnosis and distribution of preliminary medications or prescriptions.
We provide free numbered glasses to patients who have their eyes checked at eye
check-up camps.
Children and elderly individuals vulnerable to eye strain.
Helps prevent UV-related eye damage and irritation
Patients identified with conditions requiring surgery (e.g., cataracts) are referred to Vivekanand Hospital in Latur.
Surgeries conducted free of cost or at subsidized rates under government health insurance schemes such as:
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY)
Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) (if applicable)
Pre-surgery counseling, transportation support, and post-operative care are provided.
In many villages, losing eyesight is treated as fate — not a medical condition. Elderly people stop working. Children fall behind in their studies. Daily wage workers struggle to earn a living. All because they cannot access something as basic as an eye check-up. Through the Shivshree Drushti Raksha Prakalp, we are changing this reality.
One camp. One screening. One surgery. One life at a time. Your support helps us conduct free check-ups, distribute spectacles, and arrange cataract surgeries for people who cannot afford it — ensuring no one lives in darkness when help is possible.
In many villages, reaching a hospital is a luxury. Families travel long distances, often spending an entire day’s wage just for a check-up. This leads to delays, neglect, and worsening of eye conditions.
Our mobile eye care camps change this reality by going where help is needed the most. Equipped with diagnostic tools and supported by ophthalmologists, our team conducts screenings with patience and care. Villagers feel safe, heard, and respected — something that many have never experienced in medical settings before.
Each camp becomes a lifeline for the elderly, women, children, and labourers who otherwise would have continued suffering silently.
For many, purchasing spectacles is a financial burden. Students strain to read, elders stop going out after dark, and workers risk injuries because they cannot see clearly.
At our camps, patients receive high-quality numbered glasses absolutely free. The moment they put them on — when faces become sharp, letters become readable, and the world returns in detail — it becomes a moment of pure relief and transformation.
These spectacles are not just medical tools; they are a gateway to education, mobility, productivity, and self-confidence.
“Every girl carries the potential to uplift her family, her community and her nation. When she receives the right guidance and support, her growth becomes a powerful force that inspires meaningful and lasting change.”
We will share recent updates and progress of this campaign here. Stay tuned for the latest developments and success stories.
